Sprinklers
Sprinkler installation and repair in Brawley, CA
Something broke and your lawn is paying for it. I find what failed, fix that, and leave the rest alone. If the system is past saving I will tell you, but most of the time it is one part.
- Repairs, not upsells
- Hunter, Rain Bird, and Toro parts
- New systems installed
What usually goes wrong, and what it looks like
You can often tell me what is broken over the phone from what you are seeing. Here is how to read it.
A geyser or a puddle in one spot
Broken head, usually clipped by a mower or driven over. Cheapest thing on this list to fix and the fastest.
A dry arc or a dry stripe
Clogged or wrong nozzle, or a head that has sunk or tilted. Our hard water leaves mineral build-up in nozzles, so this is common here.
A zone that will not shut off
Stuck valve or a diaphragm gone. This one is worth calling about the same day, because it runs your meter the whole time.
Nothing runs at all
Usually the timer or its transformer, sometimes a cut wire. Often the cheapest possible outcome, which is why I check it first.
A soggy patch that never dries
A leak in the line underground. Needs finding before it undermines a walkway or a slab.
Some zones weak, others fine
Pressure problem, a partly closed valve, or too many heads on one line. This is the one that most often means a real fix rather than a part swap.
Repair, or a whole new system?
I get asked this on nearly every call, so here is the honest version.
A repair is almost always the answer when
The system covers the yard properly when it is working, the pipe is sound, and one or two things have failed. That is most calls. Replacing a working system because a couple of heads broke is a waste of your money.
A new system starts making sense when
Coverage was never right to begin with, the pipe is failing in more than one place, the layout does not match the yard any more, or you are putting in new sod and the old system cannot water it evenly.
I look at it first and tell you which one you are actually in. If it is a small part, I would rather fix it and keep you as a customer than sell you a system you did not need.

What it costs
Repairs are priced on what failed and how long it takes to get to it. New installs are priced on the size of the yard and the number of zones. Either way you get the number before I start.
Refer a friend or neighbour who books a job and your next service is 5% off. That is the only discount I run, so the price you are quoted is already my best one.

Final price depends on your yard. You get it in writing, free, before I start.
Questions about sprinkler installation and repair
Can you fix it, or do I need a whole new system?
Most of the time it is a repair. A broken head, a stuck valve, or a dead timer are all single-part fixes. I check the system first and only recommend a new install when the old one genuinely cannot be saved.
How fast can you come out for a leak?
Call and ask. A zone stuck open or a line leaking is worth calling about straight away, because it runs your water meter the whole time it is happening.
What parts do you use?
Hunter, Rain Bird, and Toro. They are what the local suppliers stock, they hold up to our heat and hard water, and it means the next person who touches your system can get parts easily.
Why is one part of my lawn always dry?
Usually a clogged nozzle, a sunken head, or a head spraying the wrong arc. Sometimes it is a pressure problem across the zone. It is a quick thing to diagnose in person.
Do you install systems for a brand new lawn?
Yes, and it is worth doing before the sod goes down rather than after. If you are laying new grass, see sod and grass installation as well.
