El Centro, CA
Landscaping in El Centro, CA
The biggest city in the valley and the county seat, about fifteen miles south of me. El Centro’s housing stock has barely grown in years, which means most of the yards I see here are long established, with everything that comes with that.

Established yards, and what ages first
El Centro added eleven net new housing units in 2024. Eleven, in the county’s largest city. Almost every yard here has been in the ground a long time, and things fail in a certain order.
The irrigation goes before anything else
A system installed twenty or thirty years ago is not broken so much as drifted. Heads have sunk below the grass line, nozzles have silted up with our hard water, and arcs have been knocked round by mowers. The lawn goes patchy long before anyone thinks to blame the sprinklers.
The trees outgrow the house
Shade trees planted when the house was new are now over the roof, into the fence, and across the walkway. They are worth keeping and worth shaping, and the timing matters more here than most places, because a hard cut in July exposes bark that has never had sun on it.
The beds blur into the lawn
Thirty years of growth softens every edge in a yard. Re-cutting the bed lines and edging the hard surfaces is the cheapest thing on this list and it changes how the whole property reads from the street.
If your lawn has gone patchy and you have not had the sprinklers looked at, start there rather than with new grass. It is usually the cause rather than a coincidence.
Getting to you from Brawley
About fifteen miles south on Highway 111, roughly twenty minutes. El Centro is the town I am asked about most after Brawley, and because it is the largest city in the valley it is the one I am most often already heading toward, which makes scheduling straightforward.

What I do in El Centro
All seven run in El Centro. On established properties it is most often lawn care, irrigation repairs and tree work, roughly in that order. Each has its own page with the detail and the pricing.

Recent work around the Imperial Valley
Real yards I take care of. These are from across the valley rather than El Centro specifically, because I do not label customers’ properties by street.

What it costs in El Centro
Priced on the yard in front of me, with no travel fee added for the fifteen miles. On an older property the estimate will usually tell you whether the lawn or the sprinklers underneath it are the real problem.
Refer a friend or neighbour who books a job and your next service is 5% off. That is the only discount I run.

Questions about working in El Centro
How long does it take you to get to El Centro?
About fifteen miles and roughly twenty minutes from Brawley, straight down the 111. It is a run I make often.
Do you charge extra to come to El Centro?
No. You get one written price for the job before I start and no travel fee is added afterward. Distance affects when I can get to you, not what it costs.
My sprinkler system is old. Can you work with it, or does it all need replacing?
Usually it can be worked with. Old systems here are more often drifted than dead: sunken heads, clogged nozzles, arcs knocked out of position. I check it before recommending anything, and replacing a system that still covers the yard is a waste of your money.
Do you take business properties in El Centro?
Yes. Most of my work is residential, but business properties get the same person and the same standards.
Can you fit El Centro into a weekly schedule?
Yes. Weekly and bi-weekly lawn care runs here the same as it does in Brawley, month to month with no contract.
